October 22nd, 2018: The Jidai Matsuri (時代祭) was finally held today after being cancelled last year due to a typhoon. On this lovely sunny day the maiko and geiko of Gion Kobu and Kamishichiken took part portraying various famous women throughout history. The most coveted role each year is that of legendary beauty and bad ass Tomoe Gozen (御前巴), and when Gion Kobu’s turn comes around it is always given to a natori tachikata geiko. This year Satomi (里美) was chosen to play the part and she looks truly stunning! I’ll post a line up later, so for now enjoy Satomi in all of her glory ^^
