I’m getting tired of people always defending Japan about their sexist views. Like hey, I like anime too but I’m not going to deny that it’s extremely sexist. Gender roles in Japan are still deeply engraved into them, and it’s pretty obvious just by watching almost any anime. Women are always the stay at home moms, the girl who impresses the boy by being a great chef and making lunches for her whole family, being subjected to panty shots, groping, bath scenes. They almost never have good action roles, and even if they do Japan has to soup it up with lots of fan service, just to degrade them.
